This whole journey began in April of 1984. The birth of not only myself, but of my style. Every blip of my past would slowly form me to who I am today. From being forced to watch love stories with my mother, to only being allowed to listen to music of the 40's 50's and 60's. Taught me what love looks and sounds like. Watching rather than interacting allowed me to learn social cues and emotion from a non biased perspective. Growing up in a tough neighborhood taught me how to always be aware of my surroundings. I never would have thought these situations would ever one day pay me back. I now know that the best moment to photograph a kiss in not when the lips touch. It's before, when all of your passion is guiding your lips to theirs. And after, when you are briefly drunk from love. I know the look of a persons stride as they are walking to another to share a hug and tell them they love them. My life is a recipe for emotional and true to life photos. 30 years from that April morning I am a unobtrusive photographer of life.
Passion and desire will lead to greatness in any field. So it is no surprise to me that Gena is so good at what she does. She see's the world in an artistic way and with a camera in her hands translates it to her photos. Her story started in Yosemite National Forest with a box camera.
"I took some pictures in Yosemite, every picture of Yosemite is perfect."
Truly believing that nature is beautiful in every way sprouted an idea that if one genuine habitat can produce an amazing photo, then this can carry over to every moment in life. One day she proved herself right when she photographed a bride hugging her grandmother who was originally unable to be there. This moment carried on for a matter of seconds and she was there to make sure it never went unnoticed. From that moment the creativity began to pour out. Capturing the most amazing moments in peoples lives fuels her desire to consistently produce the art she does. I work with a photographer who has a passion to capture love, capture the unnoticed, capture time itself. I work with my amazing wife.
